IMG_1985Recently, I was given the chance to try nail polish made out of fruits and vegetables by Play Love Laugh. I had no idea this sort of thing existed and being pregnant, I jumped at the chance to try a nail polish that was non toxic and free of harsh chemicals and smells!

A little about Play Laugh Love Nail Polish:

-The first ever patented formula of a natural peel off nail polish made with fruits and vegetables.

-Made with carrots, beets, spinach, acerola cherries, black currents, sugar

-Safe if ingested, they are NOT made for eating!!!  Our polishes currently come in 12 beautiful colors that are extremely quick drying. 2 coats suggested and voila!

-Odorless, kid friendly, eco friendly, vegan, gluten free, quick drying, animal friendly and safe for pets to use, and safe for expecting moms.
-Created by a mom, of 3 young children, who is a Certified Physicians Assistant and a Registered Nutritionist.

My Experience With Play Love Laugh Nail Polish:

While the product says not to use with children under 3 due to it being contained in a glass bottle, I figured since it is made ofDSC_0013  fruits and veggies and safe for my expectant self, it probably wouldn’t hurt if I gave my 17 month old a pedicure. After all, her toes are MUCH cuter than mine!

Anyway, the only sure way to get my little wiggle worm to hold still is to put on an episode of Dora. Once Dora was rolling, I got down to work. While the polish says you need 2 coats, one coat worked perfectly for my daughter. Seriously, look at the pictures! Adorable right?!

The best part about this polish is that all it takes is warm water to remove it. I personally would never let my 17 month old out of the house with nail polish so it is perfect that I was easily able to peel it off. It is also fantastic that I did not have to deal with the overwhelming smell of acetone to remove this product! That stuff is brutal!

DSC_0010Since it is winter and no one but daddy and I are seeing our little girl’s toes, I decided to leave on the polish to see how it held up. It’s been 2 weeks now and my daughter’s toes are still looking great!

I absolutely can see this product at sleep overs for young girls. They can have fun giving manicures and pedicures but also be able to easily remove the polish when play time is over!

Of course, I also had to try the product myself. It has been a LONG time since I have been able to paint my nails as I am 28 weeks pregnant! For my nails I really needed 2 coats. That was it. No base coat or top coat.

Knowing that warm water would remove this polish, I was a little nervous about how my nails might look after washing my hair in a shower. Thankfully, the product held up great! Hint: cool water will reset your polish if you are not ready to remove it!

Now, I have never been one to have nail polish look fresh for more than 3 days. Even manicures done in a salon have not lasted long with me. This was the case as well with Play Love Laugh. Seeing as how this has been a common problem despite which brands of polish I have used, I’ll chalk this up to my awesome talent of wrecking my perfectly polished nails—not the product itself.

While I have seen other “non toxic” nail polishes on the market, I have never seen one where you do not need toxic nail polish remover to take it off. Play Love Laugh has earned my attention and support!

If you are as exited about non toxic nail polish as I am, Play Love Laugh is the perfect nail polish for your manicure and pedicure needs!
